Our foundation
LFG was built on the belief that complex property losses require thoughtful, independent analysis. From the beginning, the firm was designed to provide technically rigorous, transparent, and impartial consulting services to clients navigating complex and often high-stakes loss scenarios.
Since its founding, LFG has grown into a nationally recognized building consulting firm supporting clients across the United States. Our work spans a wide range of property losses—including large commercial claims, catastrophic events, and complex construction-related issues—where accuracy, clarity, and sound judgment are critical.
At its core, LFG was shaped by the leadership and vision of its founder, Russell Fountain. With decades of experience in insurance adjusting, disaster recovery, and construction consulting, Russell established a standard grounded in real-world experience, careful observation, and independent thinking.
That foundation continues to influence how LFG operates today. Our team is built around experienced professionals committed to delivering thoughtful analysis, clear communication, and consistent, high-quality work across every assignment.
LFG has always prioritized strong relationships—with clients, partners, and within the team. That culture is rooted in mentorship, collaboration, and a shared commitment to doing the work the right way.
As the firm continues to grow and evolve, the meaning behind LFG has taken on even greater significance. Today, it represents Legacy Fountain Group—a reflection of the foundation Russell built and the responsibility we carry forward as a team. The name honors that legacy while reinforcing our commitment to thoughtful analysis, independent thinking, and doing the work the right way.

our founder
Russell Fountain founded LFG Building Consultants with a clear vision: to create a firm built on technical excellence, independent thinking, and unwavering integrity. With more than 30 years of experience in insurance adjusting, disaster recovery, and construction consulting, he brought a rare combination of field expertise, industry knowledge, and leadership to the profession.
Russell’s connection to the industry began early, growing up in a family rooted in insurance. After earning his degree from the University of Alabama, he spent more than 15 years as a licensed property adjuster, gaining extensive experience in complex claims and large-loss scenarios.
He later spent a decade with an international disaster recovery firm, managing large-scale recovery operations and supporting emergency response efforts across the Gulf Coast. Over that time, he progressed into regional leadership, overseeing major projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams during catastrophic events.
In 2017, Russell founded Global Disaster Solutions (GDS), focused on complex property losses and catastrophe response. His experience spanned hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, mold, hazardous materials, and biohazard incidents.
As founder and CEO of LFG, Russell built a firm known for its technical rigor, responsiveness, and impartial consulting services—growing it into a nationally recognized organization.
Russell lived in Mobile, Alabama, with his wife and two children. His leadership and mentorship continue to shape LFG today.

Our CULTURE
LFG’s culture is rooted in the principles established from the very beginning and continues to guide how we operate as a firm.
Russell and the founding leadership team believed that strong teams are built on character first. Technical skills can be developed, but integrity, humility, and professionalism are qualities a person brings with them.
At a team meeting, Russell paused, looked around the room, and said, “I see a room full of kind eyes and good people.”
That moment captured the standard set for the company. At LFG, we believe that character comes before competency—but never in place of it. We are equally committed to building a team of highly skilled professionals with deep technical expertise and real-world experience.
Our consultants are selected not only for who they are, but for the quality of their work. We hold a high standard for both—because delivering accurate, defensible, and reliable analysis requires both strong character and exceptional capability.
Our commitment to thoughtful analysis, clear communication, and defensible work reflects the standards established from the very beginning. We approach every project with the same principles: listen carefully, think independently, do the right thing, and deliver work built on sound judgment and technical expertise.
Continuing the work
LFG continues to operate according to the principles established from the very beginning: independent thinking, technical rigor, and a commitment to doing the work the right way.
Today, those principles are carried forward by the leadership team and professionals who continue to guide the firm and support our clients across every assignment.
